NOVA University Lisbon
Role in the Project
Within the ISMED-CLIM project, NOVA contributes expertise in global health, infectious diseases, and vector-borne disease surveillance.
Through the NOVA Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, the university supports research activities focused on the assessment and modelling of climate-related infectious disease risks. In particular, NOVA contributes to studies examining the impact of climate change on vector-borne diseases and supports the development and validation of early warning systems aimed at improving preparedness among health professionals and communities.
By combining expertise in epidemiology, global health, and infectious disease surveillance, NOVA helps strengthen the scientific foundation for climate-sensitive disease monitoring and contributes to the development of evidence-based strategies to improve health resilience across Mediterranean regions.
